Well we finally did it. We brewed our own beer. For our first attempt we used an American Pale Ale kit from Northern brewers. It’s heavy on the hops which is how I like my beer. I bottled it yesterday so we are about a week away from drinking. I did try it as is when bottling and I was impressed. It did have a slight bitter finish which would tell me I cooked the mash too long. This brew is a learning experience so we will take the good and the bad and apply it to future brews to improve on. I already have a few things I would change in the process and another style lined up to brew. We will first try this one so we can really see what needs to be done and go from there.
For our next venture we will start making our own wine.
